Another day of fun...

...at the water park! We spent the entire day at the water park and had so much fun. (I'm quite sure we didn't experience a day where fun wasn't had...so maybe I should stop saying that!) The wave pool was definitely the hit of the park. The boys spent most of their time there. They did do a few of the water slides but Holly and I were livin' on the edge and conquered the big daddy of slides. On this particular ride, you sat on a hard plastic platform type thingie and dropped straight down FOUR STORIES into the water. It was one of the scariest things I have EVER done. I screamed my head off the whole way down! Hehe!!

Holly and I enjoying a tamer water slide ride.

The wave pool. Caden LOVED this.

Hangin' out in the wave pool!!
The kids.
And as if the full day at the water wasn't enough...we spent the whole evening at the drive-in. First, we watched 'Grown Ups'...hilarious movie!! And then we actually stayed for the 2nd feature which was Toy Story 3. I think we got home right around 2am. LONG day. Of course, we had to go right to bed because the next morning we were off to Yosemite National Park!

Our Texas Visitors!!

Our friends from Texas...Ken, Alison, Holly, and Jake drove out to see us last month. We had so much fun hanging out and doing the tourist-y stuff. We stayed VERY busy for the entire 12 days they were here. On this particular day, we went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We always have so much fun there and it's especially nice to leave the 96 degree temperature at the house and drive for 2 hours and have the temperature drop to 58 degrees!!
The Boardwalk!

The Pirate Ship ride. The kids must've ridden that thing a dozen times.

Jack and Holly. Holly was sooo helpful with Jack and Caden. We sure miss having her around.

Nick and Jake. Those unlimited ride wristbands sure came in handy. This was another well-ridden ride! They were wet when they rode it and I thought they were going to freeze to death. At least it dried them off a little!!

Ken, Jake, Alison, and Holly! The boys swam in the ocean depsite the frigid temperature of the water! CrAzY kids!!
Me and Alison enjoying a good 'ol Slush Puppie!
We really did have a GREAT time on the Boardwalk, eating all of the deep fried, fat filled, calorie containing musts. You can't go to Santa Cruz and NOT have the garlic fries even though you will immediately regret that decision. Ha! We enjoyed some of the best seafood we've ever enjoyed out on the pier. It was delish!

Baseball Baseball!!

Jackson just enjoyed his first season of T-Ball. He enjoyed it very much. Little Caesars sponsored his team and that was a lot of fun. He played all positions but enjoyed being 'batter' best. Our team participated in our local fair parade and got to meet Little Caesar himself! Very cool! Today we celebrated their season with a pizza party (what else? ha!) and the players received their trophies! Way to go, Jack!

Jack's Field Trip!!

Jackson's Kindergarten field trip to the ZOO!! What an exciting day. Jack rode the bus with his classmates (he's been dying to ride the bus ever since school started) to the zoo. The place was packed as it was apparently 'field trip' day for every single town in our county but it was still a lot of fun!

Watching the bird show in amazement...
Here comes the Ostrich...

I love my Mom!!

I just got to spend 17 days with my Mom. Well my boys did anyhow. Jeff and I went to a convention in Vegas and my Mom stayed with the boys while we were away. Prior to that we were in Texas visiting her and my Dad and family for my brother's wedding. So all in all...she had a lot of 'us' time. And the boys loved every second of it. I'm especially grateful for my Mom's craftiness and eagerness to help me with my lack thereof. While we were in Vegas, she stayed very busy...

My fireplace has always bothered me. The wall is so tall above the mantle, I never even attempted to figure out what could go there. But Mom had a vision...we bought some wall stickers at Kohl's and some frames at Michael's and I already had everything else. I think it looks great! Thanks, Mom!!

I bought this cute 'All Because Two People Fell in Love' sign in Texas. Jeff had the pleasure of lugging it around the various airports and flights we went in/on to get back home. We bought a fifth 'F' to replace a mirror that was on the wall so that each of us are represented below the sign. How stinkin' cute is that?

We have two indentations on either side of our office double doors that have always been bare. So again, a trip to Michael's and a crafty Mom later and now we have these two identical wall arrangements filling in the void. I love them!!

In case you haven't noticed by now, I REALLY like to decorate with letters. I saw this idea on another blog I follow and fell in love with it. My Mom covered this 'F' with moss and hung it over a mirror.
And this is the project that started it all...Jack's room got some fresh paint and a new set-up. Jack's room was originally beige and red and didn't really go with the bedding. I'm still working on this project. He needs some window treatments and some stuff on the walls...but I'm so pleased with its progress!!
